A First Christmas, friends and festivity.

An excerpt for you to enjoy from the book....

“A game, what kind of a game?” Sam was always willing to join in games, if they looked like they would be fun.

“What games do you like to play? Particularly, what kind of snow games?” Grumphspawn asked.

“He loves a good snowball fight.” Elannah burst out laughing. Rodger the Badger grinned remembering the pelting he had had earlier.

“And I like sledging…building snowmen and jumping in deep piles of snow.”

“Do you make snow angels?” The Great Wizard arched his eyebrows again, hoping it would lift Sam’s mood further.

Sam nodded. “Sometimes, but they are more Elannah’s thing.”

Elannah could see that Sam was not so gloomy anymore. All the thoughts of fun and games had lifted him up already. She must remember that. Distract them with fun and games. It seemed to work well.

“I have a good trick for the snow,” Pokey the Hedgehog told them. “I roll up into a ball and go rolling down a hill. All of the snow sticks to me and I make a massive snowball. A hedgehog snowball!

“I have to be careful, though. Last time I did it the hill was too big and I needed help getting out again.”

Sam laughed out loud at the thought of his new friend as a big snowball. “Can I see you do it please?”

“Okay. But I need a proper slope.”

“How about this one?” Grumphspawn gestured down the mountain.

Pokey gulped and looked startled. “You must be joking!”

Have FUN
