A delightful surprise and fun to read

A delightful surprise and fun to read, December 23, 2010

By Lisa Barker - See all my reviewsThis review is from: A First Christmas; Friends and Festivity: Book Two of the Everlasting and Fantastical Adventures of Elannah and Sam (Paperback)

From the very beginning Sean Noonan captivates the reader and it's one adventure after another as Elannah and Sam set about to make this Christmas party the best ever. I really like that the fantastical journey takes place in the land of dreams rather than through the use of a magical wardrobe, trunk, closet, tree house or some such device that has been done and copied to death by so many. All children have access to their dreams and imagination and can readily create their own fantastical world like Elannah and Sam who can hardly wait to experience their adventure once they climb into bed.

The reading level for this book suits the 9-12 age range, but the 4-8 range would love hearing the tale so it's the perfect story to read aloud especially during the upcoming twelve days of Christmas. One other thing...A First Christmas; Friends and Festivity is book two in the new series, but totally works as a stand alone. However, you may find yourself, like me, looking to buy book one and excitedly waiting for book three. - Biblio Reads Children's Book Review
